When will you reopen?
We cannot wait to see you again and are planning to reopen Friday, August 7th with “James Blonde, Agent 7-Eleven. We are reopening James Blonde to accommodate guests and Season ticket holders who were not able to attend due to COVID 19. This will run through August 22nd with performances Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

Can I purchase tickets for future shows?
We currently are only taking reservations for the reopening of James Blonde, Agent 7-Eleven. We are hoping to start taking reservations for CSI Provo soon with an expected opening date of August 27. Our Season of Shows has been modified with the productions of Harry Poppins and Fiends both being moved to next year’s 2021 Season of Shows.

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, purchasing tickets in advance helps facilitate social distancing. Tickets for all shows must be purchased in advance on our website at www.DesertStarPlayhouse.com or by phone at 801-266-2600.

What have we been doing while closed?
In addition to following local and national safety guidelines by staying home as much as possible, we have been busy remodeling our kitchens to serve you better when you return!

I have tickets or a group reservation for a show that’s been impacted. What should I do?
We look forward to hosting you soon at Desert Star. In the meantime, a Voucher will be automatically applied to your account for a future visit. The Voucher will never expire, and we will honor the same details from your previous purchase. When you’re ready to rebook, email us at boxoffice@DesertStar.biz and we’d be happy to help. You can use your same order information to access your credit.

I have a VOUCHER on my account from a cancelled show.

I have tickets with an expiration date. Will this expiration date be extended?

What are your social distancing protocols & how many people are you allowing in?
Great question, we are following both state and health department guidelines as well as Governor Herbert’s “Utah Leads Together -Version 4.” Currently we have removed approximately 40% of our seating and rearranged tables/chairs to accommodate for social distancing as much as possible.

How are you ensuring Team member health and safety?
Healthy habits protect our team members and our communities. All team members will have their temperature checked prior to the start of each shift and wear a mask. All team members handling or delivering food will also wear gloves. Hand sanitizer is conveniently located throughout Desert Star for team members and guests.

What are your cleaning and sanitation practices?
Our Management and dedicated Team of employees will ensure Desert Star is cleaned thoroughly before you arrive and during the show. All high-touch surfaces such as door handles and railings are disinfected regularly. After each performance, all chairs and tables are disinfected by means of health department protocols.


Social Distancing

  • Welcome back to Desert Star. When entering “The Room Where FUN Happens”, please make every effort to distance yourself from others when in the lobby and restrooms.
  • To create a safe and comfortable environment, we are following state and health department guidelines for limited guest capacity.
  • We are also following state and county requirements to “Wear a Mask” at all times.

Health & Safety

  • Our entire team will have a health and temperature check prior to the start of each shift.
  • We will wear a mask at all times and team members handling food or drinks will also wear gloves.
  • All guests must wear a mask/face covering at all times, except when eating.
  • If we learn an employee or guest tests positive for COVID we will follow the State and health protocols.
  • All team members will receive ongoing training on updated health and safety guidelines.

Highest Standards of Cleanliness in Food Preparation & Beyond

Our dedicated team of employees (many of them, your children) will ensure:

  • This FUN place is cleaned thoroughly before you arrive and during the show
  • High-touch areas are disinfected regularly
  • All food, when provided, will be prepared and served by mask and glove wearing team members
  • Upon request, disposable silverware is available.
